Velocity
Expedition
The Velocity series is regarded as the most effective crossover
kayak ever designed. Given Sun's design team, this is not
surprising. The Velocity series hull is unique in its concept. It
operates as a displacement hull at low speeds, and a planning hull
when it's moving fast.
Performance
Oriented
This unique concept has allowed us to create a kayak that is
extremely fast for its relative short length. It is very stable
and tracks effortlessly. This allows the paddler to overcome long
distances with ease, even when the kayak is fully loaded. Coastal
paddles, or deep inlets, the Velocity Expedition will perform as
well as distance oriented sea kayaks. Rest assured the ride will
be as stable and effortless as a recreational cottage kayak.
At
Home in Whitewater or Surf
Introduce this kayak to whitewater, or ocean surf, and the
Velocity Expedition becomes a performance orientated hybrid. The
Velocity Expedition planes up on the flat section in the center,
permitting the paddler to surf to his hearts delight along fast
curling breaks, or run easily down technical class 3 whitewater.
Velocity
Basic
The Velocity series offers a trek version for
budget minded and entry level paddlers.

Construction:
Xytec™
is much stiffer, stronger, more wear resistant and has better shape
retention than any other plastic kayak we know of. It has almost 30% more impact and
wear resistance than the best linear polyethylenes.
Velocity is getting Glowing Reviews!
"Bang
vs. Buck: It's faster, lighter, and even more fun than it
looks. One could almost buy a full-size plastic touring boat
for the same money, but it would be 20 pounds heavier and
nowhere near as nimble."
